NINA GORSKY: "A Hope Took Out..."

"A Hope Took Out..."

(From Juan Ramon Jimenez)
A hope took out my heart poor
and put it in bosom of yours…
You can’t tear away me, for sure,
I can’t tear away you, for sure, -
each one, void another, is lost!

You and I, I and you – we’re now
the links of the ceaseless chain!
The sky and the sea, by Fate bound,
the sea and the sky – in one main!

Translated by Yevgeny Bonver, December, 2002
