richard h. velvart: UNTITLED MEMORIES

Untitled memories

Your future in my eyes scared you
my past in your eyes left me stranded
here we are, in limbo, vaguely
remembering why we surrendered.
          ***
I'd like to wear your love
like proud Frenchmen wear
their rosette of Legion d'honneur

But I am worried that those who know us
shall rename me, "the new Dreyfuss"
And Emile Zola died in 1902.
          ***
You smelled like Capri You are an enigma
on a slow Summer night the key, Eve and You possess
the taste of ripe peach there in Eden where it all begun
covered with dew, Serpent of desire
I drunk and drunk our intimate fire
taking in the sites envloped us gently
hours like seconds life is elementary
unstoppably flew. as the morning Sun.
