Jorge Velez: AS I CRIED ALONE

As I Cried Alone

        I went to a store
        To buy myself some death
        But It was too costly
        So I bought this instead:
        I bought some grief
        I bought some pain
        I bought gray skies
        And days of rain.
        When the owner wasn´t looking
(and it was just a little while!)
I took a very deep breath
and stole a copy of your smile.
        (I went to my place)
I put on a sad song,
Framed your smile in a mirror glass
I closed my eyes as I cried along
And as I slept through, another day passed.
