MICHELLE DOWNS: YOUR SMILING FACE

YOUR SMILING FACE

YOU WERE THE VERY SPECIAL FRIEND,
SO VIBRANT, AND SO FREE.
A GLOW THAT MOVED WITHIN YOUR EYES,
THAT ALWAYS MADE ME SEE.

YOUR DIMPLES WERE SO HAPPY,
YOUR SMILE JUST THE SAME.
YOUR HEART SO FULL OF CHARACTER,
BUT NEVER MENT TO TAME.

YOUR GIGGLE, HOW A ROOM WOULD TURN,
TO SEE YOUR BEAUTY TOO.
A PERSONALITY MADE FOR ONE,
AND THE ONLY ONE, WAS YOU!

THE TROUBLES CAME TO MUCH TO BARE,
YOUR HEART FELT BROKE INSIDE.
IF I COULD SEE INSIDE YOUR HEART,
I COULD HAVE SAVED YOUR LIFE.

I FOUND YOUR BODY LAYING,
IN A POOL OF YOUR OWN BLOOD.
YOUR EYES WERE LOOKING AT ME,
BUT THIS TIME, MISSING THE LOVE.

I CLOSED YOUR EYES, AND SAID GOODBYE,
AND PRAYED TO GOD ABOVE.
TO HOLD YOU AND TO TEACH YOU,
JUST HOW MUCH WE MISS YOUR LOVE.

I'M THANKFUL FOR OUR FRIENDSHIP,
AND ALL THE FUN WE SHARED.
AND MISS YOU MORE THAN I CAN SAY,
AND ALL THE TIMES YOU CARED.

GOODBYE MY FRIEND, IN HEAVEN NOW,
LOOK DOWN FOR ME BELOW.
CAUSE SOMEDAY WE WILL BE TOGETHER AGAIN,
BELIEVE ME, CAUSE I KNOW!

GOD BLESS YOU, DIANE THOMPSON JULY 14, 1960--- OCTOBER 23,1994
