Cliff James: Time

Time

Endlessly flowing
Never departing from its chartered course
Constantly growing
Nature's indomitable force
Affects us all whether rich or poor
Making love and starting war
Ticking e'er since the world began
Ceasing not until the very end
Ruling our lives with an iron fist
Starting that and ending this
Its all we have and all we'll ever need
Taking some folks prisoner, setting others free
Perhaps some day man will find a way to rule this thing called time
Until that day all I can say is that I'll try to make the best of mine

Cliff James
