VADIM SHEFNER: "Somebody's Gone, Somebody's Gone..."
"Somebody's Gone, Somebody's Gone..."
Somebody’s gone, somebody’s gone…
And in one room old fashioned,
The guitar – a forgotten fun –
Hangs, silent one and patient.
It is unreasonable to wait
For its possessor farther, --
And his old fashioned iron bed
Got to the neighbor’s house.
But some one still don’t faith in that,
That he has gone forever,
But some one, from the guitar’s flat,
Stirs mournful dust layer.
And listening, at red sunset,
To boys who, lost old singing,
Play, under windows, couplets,
With guitars newly ringing,
Looks at the far, shading one’s eyes, --
At nights, sunrises others…
And waits for steps that would ring, once,
In emptiness of the house.
