MARGARITA ALIGER: "The Moon's Beam Jumps..."

"The Moon's Beam Jumps..."

The moon’s beam jumps immediately out
Any time when my foot is on it.
What’s another your lover about?
I don’t care of the girl for a bit.
I’m not sure that our life from its starting
Will be simply and calmly installed.
But if only I love you, my darling,
You’ll not able not love me at all.

Translated by Yevgeny Bonver, March, 2001
