Richard Cowie: RUSH

Rush

Cola wars
And double locked doors.
We run round screaming
Like were chased by a demon.
The babies born on crack
And the kids under the bride hitting the smack.
All of the rolled up dollar bills.
And the adults dropping the little white pills.
The dead beat dads
And never home moms.
If you punish your kid,
you beat him is what the court will say you did.
The vets are sleeping under boxes.
The dogs trapped with nets.
The bombs in the mail,
And the overcrowded jail it makes me wanna wail.
The chemicals in the sky.
The homeless eating a single slice of rye. All I want to know is why.
The lady on the corner who sells herself for a few bills,
Just to get what her heart wills.
The big hush by the government .
This whole life of rush has really gotten me down.
