Christopher E. Geddings: ANGEL

Angel

The ground did say an offense
to an Angel, to the sky
She began to turn away, if she had,
he knew he would die
The crude word of the ground far beneath
her beautiful stare
Overstepped his bounds
and began to lose her care
A cry of loss, the ground calls
to the immortal sky
Slowly, the sky turned to where
the ground did lie
Heard the pleas to stay
to hear a reason why
The ground had made
such a horrible cry
As the Angel listened
and began to sway
The ground had to wonder
about her magnifiscent ways
The forgiveness that the ground
had despairingly sought
Was given by the Angel,
and will not be forgot....
